SALARY*
- The starting salary for a Police Officer is $46,954.96
- Upon graduation from the Police Academy is $ $49,818.08
- After 1 year of service the annual salary increases to $61,270.82
- Salary step increases for up to 10 years of service
- Top pay annual salary after 10 years of service is $131,703.52
*These salaries do not include overtime earnings, shift differential, holiday pay and uniform allowance.
ADDITIONAL BENEFITS
- Tuition Reimbursement is offered to Officers at a reimbursement rate up to 85% of tuition cost
- Life Insurance is offered to active members and provides 3 times their final average annual salary
- Leaves of Absence are available for such reasons as: maternity, child care, education, family leave or military service

RETIREMENT BENEFITS
- Service Retirement from the New York State Retirement System. After 20 years of service as a Port Authority Police Officer, you are eligible to receive a pension, regardless of age, consisting of 50% of your final compensation. - Officers are eligible to participate in a New York State deferred compensation plan
- Comprehensive medical, prescription, vision and dental coverage upon retirement based on years of service
